  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter melted

Instructions

Prepare the Batter

  • In a large bowl, mix butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one by one. Mix well after each. Pour in milk and vanilla. Stir until everything looks creamy and well combined.

Add Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Slowly add this mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir gently. Do not overmix. The batter should be smooth and slightly thick.

Make the Topping

  • In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Pour melted butter over it. Mix with a fork until crumbly. This topping gives the cake its classic sweet crunch.

Assemble the Cake

  • Grease your baking pan. Pour the batter into it evenly. Spread it with a spatula. Sprinkle the topping over the batter. Make sure it covers the surface nicely.
