Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 100 g cold butter
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 250 g ground beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon oil

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough

  • In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and turmeric powder. Add cold butter and rub it into the flour until crumbly. Slowly add cold water and form a soft dough. Cover and rest for 20 minutes.

Cook the Beef Filling

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and garlic. Cook until soft. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Stir in curry powder, thyme, chili powder, and salt. Add water and cook until thick.

Cool the Filling

  • Once cooked, let the beef filling cool completely. This helps it stay inside the pastry while baking.

Roll the Dough

  • Divide dough into small balls. Roll each one into a flat circle using a rolling pin. Keep thickness even for best results.

Add Filling

  • Place a spoon of beef filling in the center of each circle. Do not overfill to avoid spilling.

Shape the Patties

  • Fold the dough over the filling. Press edges with a fork to seal tightly. Shape into a half-moon.

Brush and Prepare

  • Place patties on a baking tray. Brush the top with a little oil or egg wash for golden color.

Bake the Patties

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20–25 minutes. The crust should turn golden and crisp.

Serve Warm

  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm for best taste and texture.
