Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

Blend the Blackberries

  • Add fresh blackberries into a blender with sugar, water, lemon juice, lemon zest, and honey. Blend until very smooth. The mixture should look bright purple and slightly thick. This fruity base creates the fresh flavor for the homemade sorbet.

Strain the Mixture

  • Pour the blended blackberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer. Use a spoon to press the liquid through carefully. This removes seeds and creates smoother sorbet texture. Smooth texture makes the frozen dessert feel more refreshing and enjoyable later.

Pour Into Ninja Creami Pint

  • Carefully pour the strained mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container. Do not fill above the maximum line. Place the lid on tightly. Wipe the container edges clean before placing it carefully inside the freezer for freezing overnight.

Freeze Until Fully Solid

  • Place the pint container flat in the freezer for at least twenty-four hours. The mixture must freeze completely before spinning. Fully frozen mixture helps the Ninja Creami machine create creamy and smooth sorbet texture instead of icy chunks.

Spin the Sorbet

  • Remove the frozen pint from the freezer carefully. Place it into the Ninja Creami machine correctly. Select the “Sorbet” setting. The machine will turn the frozen fruit mixture into soft, creamy, and refreshing blackberry sorbet after spinning finishes.

Re-Spin if Needed

  • Check the texture after the first spin carefully. If the sorbet looks crumbly, add one tablespoon water or lemon juice. Use the “Re-Spin” setting for smoother consistency. Serve immediately for the freshest and softest frozen blackberry dessert experience.

Notes

  • Use frozen blackberries if fresh are unavailable
  • Add mint leaves for extra freshness
  • Mix raspberries with blackberries for deeper flavor
  • Reduce sugar for lighter sweetness
  • Freeze serving bowls before serving
  • Add vanilla extract for softer flavor
