Ingredients

  • 4 large bell peppers
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 250 g ground beef or chicken
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

Prepare the Peppers

  • Wash the bell peppers well. Cut off the tops and remove seeds inside. Keep the peppers whole. This helps hold the filling nicely. Set them aside while you prepare the filling.

Cook the Meat

  • Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic. Cook until soft. Add ground meat and cook until brown. Stir well to break the meat into small pieces.

Add Rice and Sauce

  • Now add cooked rice and tomato sauce into the pan. Mix everything well. Add salt, pepper, paprika and oregano. Cook for a few minutes so flavors blend nicely together.

Stuff the Peppers

  • Take each pepper and fill it with the prepared mixture. Press gently so filling stays inside. Place stuffed peppers in a baking dish standing upright.

Add Cheese on Top

  • Sprinkle shredded cheese over each stuffed pepper. This adds a rich and creamy taste. You can add more cheese if you like extra flavor.

Bake the Peppers

  • Cover the baking dish with foil. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes. Then remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until cheese melts.

Let Them Rest

  • Take the peppers out of the oven. Let them rest for a few minutes. This helps the filling settle and makes them easier to serve.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve warm and enjoy your delicious stuffed peppers. You can garnish with fresh herbs if you like. This dish tastes best when fresh.

Notes

  • Use brown rice for a healthier option
  • Try ground turkey instead of beef
  • Add chopped vegetables for extra nutrition
  • Use spicy sauce for more heat
  • Top with fresh herbs for better taste
  • Do not overfill the peppers
