Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional

Instructions

Mash the Bananas

  • Take ripe bananas in a bowl. Mash them well using a fork until smooth. Small lumps are okay. The riper the bananas, the sweeter your bread will be.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • Add sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix everything well using a whisk until the mixture looks smooth and creamy.

Add Dry Ingredients

  • Add flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon into the mixture. Stir gently until everything combines. Do not overmix, or the bread may become dense.

Prepare the Pan

  • Grease a loaf pan with butter or oil. You can also line it with baking paper. This helps the bread come out easily after baking.

Pour the Batter

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread it evenly using a spatula. Tap the pan lightly to remove any air bubbles.

Bake the Bread

  • Place the pan in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F). Bake for about 50–55 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool the Bread

  • Remove the bread from oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Slice and Serve

  • Cut into slices and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy it plain or with butter for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for best sweetness
  • Add chocolate chips for a sweet twist
  • Add chopped nuts for crunch
  • Use brown sugar for deeper flavor
  • Do not overmix batter
  • Add a pinch of nutmeg for warmth
