Instructions
 

Prepare the Apples

  • Peel and core the apples carefully. Keep them whole. This helps hold the filling later. Place them aside while you prepare the dough.

Make the Dough

  • In a bowl, mix flour, salt and baking powder. Add butter and mix until crumbly. Pour in milk slowly. Mix until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.

Roll the Dough

  • Roll the dough on a flat surface. Cut into equal squares. Each square should be large enough to wrap one apple completely.

Wrap the Apples

  • Place one apple in the center of each dough square. Fold the dough around it. Seal the edges well. Place them in a greased baking dish.

Prepare the Syrup

  • In a saucepan, mix sugar, water, cinnamon and butter. Heat until sugar dissolves. Add vanilla at the end. This syrup gives sweetness and moisture.

Bake the Dumplings

  • Pour hot syrup over the wrapped apples. Bake in preheated oven at 180°C for 40 minutes. The dough should turn golden and apples become soft.

Serve Warm
